U3A Hepburn Shire, located primarily in Daylesford and established in 2000, is a voluntary organisation providing educational, recreational and social programs for people who can best be described as being active in retirement or semi-retirement, the third age of our lives.
Our motto is ‘Learning Together for Pleasure’ and it is our mission to provide opportunities for members to learn, teach, share and to give mutual support to each other in a friendly and warm environment, regardless or ethnicity, religion, ability or disability.
Our courses and activities cover a wide range of interest areas from academic to physical, artistic to leisure pursuits. Our members enjoy both the intellectual engagement and the social aspect of belonging to U3A Hepburn Shire.
We focus on enabling members to expand their knowledge in existing areas, and to explore new fields and activities whilst enjoying the companionship of likeminded people.
Classes and activities are held in local venues including the Courtroom at the Daylesford Neighbourhood Centre, the Senior Citizens’ Room behind the Town Hall, the Paddock Room at Daylesford Neighbourhood Centre, halls, cafes and private homes. Most are held during the day with easy access to venues.
